Join us on Wednesday, 13 January 2021 to find out more about working in factual production management
One of the three 2021 Grierson DocLab schemes currently open for applications is Grierson DocLab in Focus: Production Management. With support from Netflix, The Grierson Trust is looking to address skills shortages in the UK factual production management sector with this new scheme.
We welcome applications from those looking to pursue a career in the production side of factual TV and documentary-making. Applicants should be super organised, great communicators, multi-taskers and creative problem-solvers who have at least one years’ experience in an office-based admin role. This experience can be in any sector within or outside of television. They should also be aged 18+ and have the right to live and work in the UK.
For those applicants who may come from outside the factual television industry, we are holding a webinar on Zoom on Wednesday, 13 January 6-7pm. Introduced by Director of Training Programmes at The Grierson Trust, Yen Yau, the webinar will be hosted by new Grierson Trustee and BBC Content Head of Talent, Donna Taberer.
Panellists include Audrey Duffy, Manager, Documentaries at Netflix; Sarah Lee, Founder and Creative Director at The Talent Manager; TV Production Manager, Amardeep (Amy) Panesar, as well as others. They will discuss what the UK factual TV sector looks like, and how Grierson DocLab In Focus: Production Management can help you take the next step in your career, pivot from where you are now or re-enter the industry after a break via this career path.
Ahead of the panel, we recommend downloading the ScreenSkills Unscripted TV editorial and production map for context. The session will be recorded and published on the website afterwards for those unable to attend. Closed captions will be available.
