From working remotely to being on-location, find out what Ramla’s placement at 72 Films involved
I really didn’t know what to expect when I started my placement at 72 Films. I’d seen the programmes they produced, and I was worried I wouldn’t know what to do. But after working with the team, I have grown so much in confidence, in my skills and abilities. I had lots of people ready to support me if I ever felt overwhelmed or confused. Although I was predominantly working from home, I got the chance to go on a two-day shoot on location.
Not only did I finally get to put names to faces and meet the team in person, but I also got to experience what filming on location involved. It’s one thing learning about how to make the programmes you love, it’s another witnessing how they’re made first-hand. From researching and transcribing to editing cuts, I’ve really grown from my time at 72 Films.
And just when I thought it was over, they extended my contract to keep me on for a few more weeks. I’m excited to say that my journey in TV is just starting and I have lots to learn and so much more to experience.
