We’re delighted to reveal the trainees chosen for the second iteration of the Grierson DocLab: Archive Producers programme, run in collaboration with Prime Video Pathway.

The online portion of the intensive training will begin next week, where Archive Producer, Sam Dwyer will once again lead the trainees through sessions, workshops and activities to set them on their path to become documentary Archive Producers of the future.

Key training topics will include: the archival landscape; production fundamentals; soft skills for negotiation; working to a project brief; organising workflow; different approaches to research; securing personal archive; navigating social media archive; plus, budgeting, feedback, and navigating ethical challenges and sensitive subjects.

The group will also hear from and visit key archive including Associated Press, Kinolibrary, Getty Images, the Huntley Archive, BFI Archive, Berkhamsted; Imperial War Museum; BFI Mediatheque and Reuben Library and film restoration company R3Store Studios.

As with our other programmes, each trainee will be matched with an industry mentor and receive two five-week bursary supported placements.
