Each day began with a meeting, and it was really interesting to hear different ideas for films from people and to gain an insight into the behind-the-scenes of The One Show.

My tasks included researching ideas, looking for potential contributors, writing treatments, location scouting and reviewing previous episodes.

I felt real pride whilst working with the team especially when working on these tasks. For example, I managed to find a contributor for a commissioned piece, and I have had two of my treatments put forward to pitch to commissioners for next year’s programming.

The environment at the BBC certainly helped me thrive. I constantly felt in awe by the fact that I was working in a place where some of the greatest people in the industry have been and currently work. I remember walking into the office one day and seeing a BAFTA just sitting on the shelf which was amazing to see.

Overall, I had a brilliant time working on the development team at The One Show and I would like to thank both BBC Studios Salford and the Grierson Trust for this opportunity.
